Spicy Orange Chicken with Noodles

Add whatever veggies to this you like to enhance! (Maybe: red bell pepper, broccoli, snap peas, onions) I also would love water chestnuts in this!

Ingredients

For the Chicken

• 1 lb chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces

• 4 green onions, chopped

• 2 oranges (for juice and garnish)

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• ½ teaspoon ginger powder

• ½ teaspoon paprika

• Salt and pepper, to taste

• Juice of ½ an orange

• 3 tablespoons cornstarch

• 1 tablespoon soy sauce

For the Sauce

• 1 cup chicken broth

• 3 tablespoons soy sauce

• 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

• 2 tablespoons orange juice

• 1 teaspoon sugar

• 1 teaspoon sesame oil

• 1 tablespoon gochujang cooking sauce

• 2 tablespoons hot honey

• 3 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 teaspoon cornstarch

For Serving

• Chinese noodles (cooked according to package instructions)

• Spice House's Vulcan Fire Salt, to taste (optional but recommended for extra heat) If you do not have this, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes when mixing the sauce.

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken

1. In a bowl, combine the chicken with garlic powder, ginger powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and orange juice. Mix well.

2. Add cornstarch and toss until the chicken is evenly coated.

3. Stir in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, then set aside to marinate while you prepare the sauce.

Prepare the Sauce

4. In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until well combined. Set aside.

Cook the Chicken

5. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers.

6. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

7. Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate.

Make the Sauce & Assemble

8. In the same skillet, pour in the prepared sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer until thickened.

9. Meanwhile, cook the Chinese noodles in boiling water according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse.

10. Add the cooked noodles to the sauce, tossing to coat.

11. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix well with the noodles. Heat through.

12. Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another minute until slightly wilted.

Final Touch

13. Season with Spice House's Vulcan Fire Salt, adjusting to your heat preference.

14. Serve immediately, garnished with additional green onions or orange zest if desired.
